Using Affymetrix chip technology, thousands of oligonucleotide probe molecules are fixed on the support by photoetching to form a regularly arranged lattice, hybridize with the DNA molecules of the sample to be tested with fluorescent labeling, and then obtain the number and sequence information of the sample DNA molecules by detecting the hybridization signal intensity of each probe molecule.

The screening of many SNP loci can be realized at the same time through one hybridization. For high-density SNP detection, it has the advantages of fast and high-throughput, and significantly improves the detection efficiency.
