The independent trial of low-cadmium accumulation rice variety approval and the Higentec-enterprise consortium trial late rice field inspection was successfully completed
On October 10, 2021, an expert group composed of Deputy Director Liu Xin, Director Wang Yuxi of the National Agricultural Technology Center, Xu Jingbo, Vice President of Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and members of the National Approval Committee assumed the responsibility of Higentec Bio in Yueyang, Hunan and Changsha, Hunan. Field investigations were carried out for the late rice experiments at two experimental sites, and the cadmium content of the rice varieties tested was rapidly detected. The expert group fully affirmed the quality of the test, spoke highly of the low cadmium accumulation effect of some varieties, and supported the approval of the low cadmium accumulation varieties and their rapid introduction to the market.
From October 11th to 12th, 2021, an expert group composed of Zhang Guiquan, professor of South China Agricultural University, Li Yongchao, secretary of the Party branch of Hunan Rice Research Institute, and Peng Junhua, director of Higentec Biotechnology Co., Ltd. Indica early-maturing group and late indica-medium-late-maturing group were tested in the field, and the field performance of each tested variety was evaluated. A total of 20 people from each participating unit participated in the investigation.
As a key common platform for China's leading biological seed industry, Higentec Bio has led the formation of a scientific and enterprise consortium to provide a third-party platform for the approval of rice varieties in the industry to help national food security.
