Liandu District, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province has a long history. It was founded in the ninth year of emperor kaihuang of the Sui Dynasty (AD 589). It was called Kuocang county at that time. It was governed by Chuzhou Prefecture. It was changed to Lishui County in the 14th year of Dali of the Tang Dynasty (AD 779). Lishui City at the county level was established in 1986 and Liandu district was established in July 2000.

Liandu district has superior geographical and meteorological environment and excellent agricultural foundation. It belongs to the main planting area of Indica Rice Varieties in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Since 2014, Higentec has carried out project cooperation with Bihu Hongju grain production and marketing professional cooperative, and successfully established a national rice variety approval Liandu experimental base in Liandu Bihu plain. During the cooperation period, the base participated in more than 900 kinds of hybrid rice, which has a deep foundation for cooperation.
